You can schedule a campus tour with the Admission Office if you want to check out a residence hall. If you can't make it in person, check out our virtual tour.
The flexible housing application process allows personalized roommate pairing based on shared interests.
First-year students: Fill out the housing application with the same type of accommodations and priorities. Request each other as roommates.
Continuing students: Form your roommate group during the housing application process. The member with the earliest timeslot can reserve a room for everyone else when it's their turn to pick.
Due to room selection occurring soon after first-year and transfer student application openings, we can't promise room placements with new students. You can always contact the Student Housing Office post-room selection to discuss reserving a spot for an incoming student.
Note: First-year students are not eligible for rooms in Animas Hall, Mears, Centennial, or the Gauge Apartments.
We currently offer 80 beds designated as gender-inclusive housing across various halls. As demand increases, we update more rooms to accommodate students without gender restrictions.
Students with specific accommodations or medical needs may request exceptions in some instances. These requests are typically handled through the Student Housing Office, where documentation may be required to support the request.
First-year students: You'll receive an email about their resident assignments mid-May. It includes their room assignment, roommate’s name, and contact information.  You'll get a second email the first week in August  with up-to-date housing placement information and detailed materials for check-in.
Continuing students: You will self-select your room the week of March 11, with two more rounds of room selection in May and July for later applicants.
Yes! The Student Housing Office begins accepting room change requests after the Census date in the fall and spring semesters. Requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on room availability.
If you are experiencing a conflict with your roommate, your Residence Director will discuss mediation options before approving a room change.
A $40 room change fee will be added to your student account once the room change is approved.
If you have further questions, reach out to your Resident Assistant or Residence Director.
Before moving in: Housing assignment cancellations must be processed through the Housing Cancellation Form.

Thanksgiving and Spring Breaks: Student Housing remains open.
Winter Break: Residence halls close. Students in halls must arrange alternative housing. Students in Mears and Centennial apartments can register to stay.
Summer housing: Offered in the Mears Apartment Complex. Find more information about Summer Housing.
