After over two years of construction, FLC's Schlessman Family Hall opened on April 28. Named after 鶹Ѹשalumnus Gary Schlessman (Business Administration, ’79), whose foundation donated $2 million to the project, the complex houses classrooms for FLC’s Public Health and Health & Human Performance departments.

Snowpack is estimated to be 190% of the average in the Dolores River Basin, leading to a 30-to-60-day recreational water release from McPhee Dam into the Lower Dolores River. The often-dry river will require properly timed flushing flows to clear out mud buildup on the river bottom from years of drought, explained John Harvey, chair and associate professor of Geosciences.

Durango Public Works is gaining ground on filling out its teams. The office is exploring an opportunity with 鶹Ѹשto recruit summer interns. A spokesperson for DPW said it could be a chance for students and young adults to gain valuable work experience in environmental engineering.
