Telescope Counterweights (new)
Telescope Counterweights (new): Tom (the new Phys-Eng lab tech) welded a pair of offset mounts so the Meade counterweight track could be used at approximately the same distance from the optical tube as the 5" guide scope on the opposite side of the tube. With this new weight system, better balance ise achieved with less weight. This does result in better tracking.
