From analyzing the geometry and statistical patterns of the country music group Lady Antebellum to understanding the synthesis and characterization of P,P’-1,4-diphospha-cyclohexane derivatives and their metal coordination reactions, the Fort Lewis College 2012 Undergraduate Research Symposium is full of fascinating research projects, all led by Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ¸ßÇåÎÞשÂëÇøstudents.
 
The Symposium, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Thursday, April 19 beginning at 12:20 p.m. Students from the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ¸ßÇåÎÞשÂëÇøSchool of Natural & Behavioral Sciences will present their research projects that they have been working on all semester. The day will begin in the Student Union Vallecito Room with oral presentations running until 6:15 p.m. Overlapping will be poster presentations in the Student Union Ballroom beginning at 5:15 p.m.
 
This year’s Symposium keynote address will be given by the 2012 Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ¸ßÇåÎÞשÂëÇøFeatured Scholar Dr. Gary Gianniny. His address, entitled “The Pulse of the Earth, The Heart Beat of the Heavens; Climate Change in Geologic and Human Time,” will kick off the Symposium in the Student Union Vallecito Room at 12:20 p.m.
